Highland stream

Waterfalls, big or small, can be photographed with either a short shutter speed to freeze the motion, or a longer speed to create a blur and give a sense of moving water and some people strongly favour one or the other. This evening image, taken at the head of Glen Etive in Scotland, combines both the water movement and the crisp outlines of the granite boulders.

The long exposure was something of a trial however, due to the presence of several hundred midges giving me their undivided attention.
